Adobe / Make It Rik Oostenbroek X Vault 49.

Coney Island, New York USA

I had the honor to be part of a dream project by Adobe, the brand who developed the software who made my career possible.
The project is called Make It, and the talented guys from Vault 49 collected assets from
four amazing neighbourhoods in New York city to kick it off.

My brief was to make a piece based on the library made at Coney Island. A legendary colorful place with a very nice retro/old school vibe. I was inclined to do an abstract-only piece, but I figured it would be way more interesting to include a little bit of typography into it. Why? Because of all the neon signs, the kick-ass, retro food-truck kind of logo’s
and the old school lettering on the attractions.

I have to admit that it was a big challenge for me to work with someone else’s color palettes and textures, so it was a nice
"out-of-the-comfort-zone" challenge. Can’t wait to see the end result on a billboard.
