Performance Piece:

“Leftovers”

 

For this piece I wanted to be as authentic as possible. I started off thinking of things that would leave behind a mark or evidence of activity. On our way back from our family trip we decided to stop for Thai food. There I took pictures of the food and it turned out that we had a lot of leftovers and especially rice. When I got home I decided that this would be my performance piece.

 

For me, this piece represents the last dinner out as a family before the vacation ends. My parents being doctors and my sister and I always being in sports with conflicting times during the year we don’t usually get to eat together. However, during vacation, my family talks more and almost every night we eat out and just enjoy each others company.
