Summer Mini Projects - 2015

PERSONAL MINI PROJECT
After I retured from Disney, a month remained until I started back up again at school. I decided to do a few mini projects to keep myself busy and work on my skills. Here is a collection of the work I did.
I got the idea for this animation after an ad I saw for Snap Chat. I thought it would be interesting to show the different days of the week in the form of a person. All the people were designed in Illustrator then brought into After Effects to be animated. The video is sized perfectly to fit onto an iPhone screen in portrait orientation. Est. time: 10 hours
I've seen this style done many times and figured I'd give it a shot. I had to do some quick story boards to understand the hand motions I was going to use and where to place my hands. My DSLR had a flip out screen so I faced it towards me and used the focus square on the screen to get accurate motions for the first and last animation. Est. time: 6 hours
This photo was a style I wanted to try for a very long time and never got around to it. I thought the couch would be a good place for myselfs to hang out. Little did I know it would be more of a challange to get all the creases in the couch to show up to protrail a more accurate photo. Est. time: 4 hours
For this video I was inspired by a short done by Zach King. It was a basic attempt at a wishle shot with the help of a few mask in After Effects. The actaul video is four minutes long and results in me making my bed twice, two outfit changes, and rolling off the side eight times. Est. time: 5 hours
This first video was my first attempt at creating a "Pepper's Ghost" illusion. I used a glass cup and modeled it in Cinema 4D. I made a quick animation of colored balls falling into the glass. Then using a piece of plexiglass angled 45 degrees from my computer screen, I lined up the physical glass cup to the reflection of the aniamtion. The result, if prefored correctly will appear as if the falling balls live within the physical environment and are interacting with the real glass. Est. time: 6 hours
And here is the video that was showing on my screen to be reflected.
