Visual identity created for La Famiglia Recordings, a Montreal-based label that explores a minimal and purist approach to techno.
A conscious decision was made to reference Montreal which has always been a haven for Modernist design, particularly with Expo 67 and the 76 Olympics carving such a significant swathe into the visual landscape. The colours used throughout are derived from the flag of Italy, but attention was paid to avoid the usual cliched Italian tropes.
A custom sans serif typeface, inspired by Italian type designer Aldo Novarese, was also created to tie the identity together. The letterforms feature the same angular rigidity found in the music that the label represents.

Posters
For La Famiglia's Club Velvet poster, the colours of the Italian flag were distilled in a geometric abstraction of the 909 drum machine.
