In collaboration with my classmates Thomas Lincoln and Agathe Bréthome, I created a brand for the new Lamar Station Plaza; one that incorporates the history of the area and the needs of the current community. To achieve this task, we turned to the rich history of West Colfax Avenue. The avenue has always been a major transportation corridor. Its focus has been to move people from east to west —from Denver to the Rocky Mountains and back. Our goal for this project was to develop a brand for Lamar Station Plaza that celebrates its history as a transportation gateway to the mountains as well as its own unique and eclectic character.

The final logo highlights the Rocky Mountains and is reminiscent of the historic neon signs found along West Colfax Avenue. We also chose retro-inspired colors and focused our efforts on attracting commuters by designing interesting environmental elements to make the plaza more inviting.
