The brief was to design an app for a magazine around the broader context of ‘architecture’
Architecture is defined as both the process and the product of planning, designing,
and constructing buildings and other physical structures.
The magazine however looked at architecture elsewhere. Moving over from buildings we pan
over to different areas like organic architecture, software architure etc. We
basically look at architecture as the art of building anything.
This magazine and in consequence, the app, was visualised as an ecletic mix of the practice
of architecture and the other things like nature, typefaces, fashion or even watches.
We decided to contine the idea of leisure learning in our Application Design. Our user needs were based around the fact that people would sometimes want to just browse through articles without having to go look for it, much like website such as StumbleUpon. We also looked at Pinterest and how people could save their work and come back to a common space to look at these articles again. Moreover, since the website encouraged learning in a fun way and provided unconventional views on the usual subjects, the Idea was to create a platform upon which people could interact with each other, post interesting articles themseleves and engage in interesting
conversation with like-minded people.
