About the Toronto Acupuncture Studio:

We offer affordable and effective treatments on a sliding scale. The purpose of the sliding scale is to separate the issues of money and treatment. Everyone pays between $15-35 per visit. You decided what you can afford, no questions asked. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and make it accessible to as many people as possible.
We recommend regular frequent treatments, as needed. Acupuncture is a process. In Korea and China, a typical treatment protocol for a chronic condition can be 2-3 treatments a week for a couple months. Most of our patients do not need that much acupuncture, and although we see some amazing improvements after one session, many people require a course of treatments, rather than a single one. Community acupuncture is set up to facilitate this process so that you may come in as often as needed to get better and stay better.
We treat in a comfortable group setting. The community acupuncture model gets back to the roots of how acupuncture has been practiced in Asia for thousands of years - in a group setting. Patients lie in comfortable recliners, fully clothed, in a quiet, soothing room. Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it allows you to come in as often as you need to, it's easy for friends and family members to come in for treatments together and many people find it comforting to be sharing a healing space.
We are a part of the community. Affordable acupunture means that more people have the choice to use acupuncture for their health care. Healthier individuals help build healthier communites. We are a sustainable business model that offers a service that people need and can afford.

Ash H. Yoon, R.Ac is a graduate of the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA). After being in private practice for four years, she founded Toronto Acupuncture Studio with the vision to create an inclusive community healing space that makes this medicine available to as many people as possible.
She is incredibly honored to witness the healing and courage of her patients. She is indebted to them, as well as her family, professors, colleagues and friends who continually inspire her on a daily basis.

Daryl Fang, L.Ac is a graduate of Chinese Medicine and Human Biology from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Chinese natural therapies have always been a part of her life, but it wasn't until she developed a serious and seemingly incurable sinus infection in her twenties that lead her to study Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture and herbal medicine cleared her of the infection that three courses of antibiotics could not cure.
During the last six years, she has seen rewarding results using acupuncture to treat various conditions including, muscle and joint pain, insomnia, anxiety, gynecological issues, headaches and respiratory tract infections. She continues to explore ways to enhance her treatments through ongoing studies in Eastern philosophy, meditation and yoga.

THE MOVEMENT:

Toronto Acupuncture Studio is proud to be part of the "calmest revolution ever staged," a movement pioneered by our friends at Working Class Acupuncture in Portland, Oregon, to increase patient access to acupuncture in North America.
They started the Community Acupuncture Network (CAN), a non-profit organization of practitioners, patients, and supporters whose goal is to make acupuncture more affordable and accessible by promoting the practice of offering acupuncture in community settings for a sliding scale (within $15 and 40 a treatment). Please check out a mini-documentary about this movement here.
If you're a practitioner interested in learning more about this model, please join CAN. Toronto Acupuncture Studio organizes CAN 101 Workshops for practitioners in collaboration with the Community Acupuncture Network. We are committed to supporting the growth of more community clinics in the GTA and beyond.
