So there we were. Two brothers with little to no experience. We wanted to gut and redo our parent's kitchen. So, we read. We watched. We slept (barely) and worked our tails off. It looks nice now doesn't it? Long story short, if you want to do something, just do it, no experience required. Did I mention we've never done anything of the sort?
We ripped up three floors including one layer of oak over 25 years old. Prepped the floor, went to the dump, got a nail gun and started installing the floor. Real maple, real hardwoods. We also completed putting the cabinets together, mounting, leveling, painting the walls, all trim, all plumbing except sink install. The only thing we didn't do was install granite countertops. We had to hire that out. A nice kudos was given to us by the countertop guys. They asked who did the cabinet install because it was so level and plum, they didn't have to shim the countertops at all. Not bad for a two novices! Property Bro's you've got some competition...
