The design for the Cartoon Network business card and note cards is derived from the network's black and white look. I used cyan and magenta to print the name and contact info for a touch of color without interrupting the overall black and white impact. Since this is a card from someone that works at Cartoon Network, we wanted to present a sense of humor as well. Our writers came up with a few lines that are specific to the moments that a business card would be shared, or when a note card is written and sent. As someone that used to work at Cartoon Network, you may be surprised the number of times I was asked, 'What show do you draw for?'

Once these were created, the staff at the Cartoon Network Studios wanted to have cards that reflected the updated black and white network look. But they wanted something reflected the range of shows being produced at the studios. I used the show icons from the network tune-in bumps for the various shows in production on the front and the back. The back design recalling the original checkerboard Cartoon Network logo.
