UCI BIKE RACE, how to navigate VCU
I worked closely with editorial staff, photographers and a developer to create responsive-based web site layouts to help students, faculty and staff navigate around the town during the UCI bike race week. The user can decide to take a number of different one credit classes, sign up to be a volunteer, or to stay away from downtown Richmond during the bike race. This was my first project at VCU, and I had a two week turn around to create UI/UX design concepts, get approvals, cordinate with editorial content and hand off web assets to a developer. We created Richmond2015.vcu.edu and companion site Navigate.vcuhealth.org. UX problem that I solved was how to show the closed roads, the open parking lots and the recommended entrance and exit on to campus. Google maps is what we used to create a turn by turn directions, marked parking lots and the bike race on the map. I created a spread sheet of java script 28 polygons that I shared with the developer.
Four Life Science web sites
Goal/Intent:
• Create a dynamic and updated site that is minimalistic and clean
• Convey a clear message of who we are and what we do
• Increase public awareness and visibility
• To be an educational resource
• Wants the user to go further into the site
• Attracting people to the programs and center
• Build a database- getting people to sign up for the e-newsletter
• Donations
I designed this quad of web sites for the VCU lifescience department, three web sites connect off from the main web site, http://lifesciences.vcu.edu/. Prototype designs for Life science, Rice River Center and the Center for Enviromental Studies can be seen below. The two out of the four sites are currenlty under developement.
