Dolce Vita

The Dolce Vita project is about a shopping mall that was built in 2007 in Ovar, a city in the north of Portugal. It was constructed in a cheap, remote terrain, far from the town center. Even though it was placed so faraway, literally inside the woods, Dolce Vita is the new pastime of almost everybody.
The inhabitants were, until now, very provincial, keeping old traditions. Now, new shopping centers have arrived and the internet is available in most houses. The door is open to the outside world and Ovar will no longer be the "old-fashioned" city it was. The Ovarenses are starting to feel the influence of the american culture and are changing their lifestyles accordingly.
