A Mother's Day Gift
This was a student project in Advanced Typography. Rework the book "Ten Commandments of Type" by Paul Felton. In order to spice it up and challenge myself, I chose to make a gift for my mother, who has 19 very young (and quite cute, if I may say so) grandchildren. I took the photos and wrote a blurb about each child.
Second challenge - make it durable enough to last through many, many years of children perusing it, because you know they will!

Spine is made with hand stitched, soft leather.
The pages were professionally printed on canvas paper, then sewn together creating a double thickness. These were then sprayed with a matte krylon spray.
Pages had the demonstrated "rule" (retitled as "Boundaries") on one side and the "broken rule" (No Boundaries) on the opposite and worked together as a full spread.
