Franz, Lilli and Lu started as three characters for an animation. They were to represent some of the different traits shown in young people growing up in the Royal Rangers and to inspire them. Franz (the mouse with the hat) is leader of this band. He teaches Lilli (the fox) and Lu (the hippo) in every activity they wind up doing. Lilli is insatiably curious, full of enthusiasm and is very easily distracted... Lu on the other hand reveals very little about his true feelings, preferring to simply be Lilli's companion.
