This is the website for a children's book called (you guessed it) "The Pink Sneakers Caper." Check it out yourself at www.thepinksneakerscaper.com.
It is responsive and fully integrated with social media. Since it was designed with Wordpress, the client can make adjustments to the site by simply logging in to their wordpress.org account. It has 12 individual pages, including a blog by the author, downloads accessible by social media utilization, previews of the book, and most importantly: an Order page, which is linked to on every other page.
The intended audience is parents or teachers of children who would enjoy the book, but it also is designed with the children themselves in mind. It is obviously quite colorful, in harmony with the book itself, and it even has a place on the blog for children (fans of the book) to submit their own short stories!
There are a number of little interactive objects that pop up when you mouse over them, creating a fun and playful experience.
Also, every image on the site can be added directly to Pinterest by using the "Pin It" button that appears when the mouse hovers over it.
This is without a doubt a full-featured website, and I learned a lot while designing it. The vast majority of the actual ideas behind the site came from the client. I did my best to implement those ideas, and then round out the site by contributing my own.
