Last summer, I spent a whole day with my camera around Kakola prison. The prison hasn’t been in use since 2007, but the park around it is a common place for people to take a walk. The stone patterns, the staircases and the shadows on the wooden planks gave me this idea of defining escape and freedom - of starting something new.

 

So it happens that the prison will now be used for something new - it will host several art galleries for a few weeks.
