Fission Strategy designed and implemented a fully responsive website for Citizen Engagement Lab to share the stories of people impacted by Fracking. The project, titled Faces of Fracking, is designed encourage sharing of all story content including: story text, sound clips, and professional photography.

 

The site integrates the sharing online communities of Soundcloud and Flickr’s Creative Commons, which allows visitors to easily share, download, and attribute the content for future use. Using these technologies gives these stories the ability to travel far across all channels of the Internet from social media, personal blogs, and news outlets. In addition to soundcloud Integration and Flickr integration, this site also feature parallax scrolling, multilingual functionality, and responsive design.
 

 

Journalist Tara Lohan and photographer Sarah Craig are visiting communities across the state to document how fracking affects the people who live there, those who may soon be impacted if the practice spreads, and how they are fighting back. The project is launching with five front linestories and a data visualization about the extent of fracking in California, and will continue to profile other community voices in the months to come.  (Source)
