It was throughout this artistic research that I discovered that the combinations of digital technology, in this case a projected animation, together with a tactile soot painting, could present a new experience of approaching a traditional painting. The projects I currently work with present the viewer with multiple questions of paradox, which aim to blur the boundaries between opposite elements and conventional methods of approaching an artwork. This ultimately presents my audience with a metaphor. I attempt to question the relationship between new media and the old, the moving and the static, the intangible and the tactile, together with understanding the bond between the machine and the human.

Moreover, through the artistic development of my project works, I work with the visual concept of disintegration; the disintegration of the tactile and humane soot that is transferred into intangible digital particles. Consequently, this aspect does not only present visually stimulating results, but also presented a play between the authentic human component and the reproducible machine. This idea is intended to imply questions on my viewers, aimed in a way to make them wonder on the puzzling issue of how we view technology in today’s art scene. Rather than viewing technology as a destroyer of the so called authentic aura, by juxtaposing the two media in a unified manner here, I attempt to establish a renewed experience of "painting". Furthermore, I aim to present a new kind of aura that might actually serve as being more effective in experiencing a painting to its full potential. This attempt here possibly presents potential in establishing a renewed experience of painting, predominantly through stimulating several senses at once.
