Art & Design Department Informational Booklet

Problem
Create a booklet outlining the Graphic Design program at Missouri State University. Booklet must appeal to prospective students. Text and logos provided, to be produced through an online print fullfillment vendor who creates books from files uploaded by users.

Approach
Suitable prospective students in the design program have a passion for the digital production of artwork, so used a clean geometric design and layout to reference the modernity of the program and appeal to a younger millenial audience. This was achieved through the repetition of two geometric shapes: a long rectangular bar and a hexagon. Color is used to define each section of the booklet, and are pulled directly from the Art & Design Department Logo in order to maintain branding continuity. Blank pages on the back side of the cover and back cover (before the table of contents and after the contanct information) were a function of production limitations. Pages displayed here as spreads, gray dashed line indicates the spine where otherwise not visible. Artwork created in Adobe InDesign using photos edited in Adobe Photoshop and objects created in Adobe Illustrator. This book was designed in an academic setting for DES 301–Graphic production.
