Olio is both a decorative and functional object. It's name gives away it's function, which is the combustion of essential oils. Morphologically inspired by the "desert rose" a type of tree that only exists in the island of "Socotra" which is placed 220 miles from the beach of Yemen. "Desert rose" constitutes a paradoxical form as it's maximum height is almost as long as it's diameter, offering a different sense of symmetry to the viewer. "Olio"'s purpose is the purification of our living space, as well as the spiritual and physical relaxation it offers.
