For this project, I was asked to design a font from scratch. My process began with a mood board of images, and a mind map of words. The images and words that I chose focused mainly on comic book characters, comic book layout and grids, geometric shapes, and eyes. After a lot of preliminary sketching, I decided to name the font "Oracle," and to use it as a display font for comic books. I wanted the font to be fun, strong, and display its own personality. I also added a condensed version and an outlined version of the font for the final project. I chose to create my own comic book to display this font, as well as a poster featuring some of its unique typographic personality.
