Designed for the new underground section of the PMA (Philadelphia Museum of Art), the Placid bench is designed to reflect water found in caves.  Both smooth still pools of water and flowing cave streams that cut through the rocky floor and disappear.  It is made from one piece of glass that is slumped over a mold.  I arrived at the form after exploring many variations trying to imitate water features.
