This was my submission for the Terra Gauda winery's annual Francisco Mantecon poster design competition, and was delighted to be awarded the "Special Mention" (4th Place). The gala event took place on the 16th of December in the Port of Vigo, Spain. Over 2100 posters from over 53 countries were received, and from the standard of the submissions received I don't envy the judge's task in selecting the finalists and consequently the winners. Every year the brief is the same... create a poster, anything goes, ideally the white wine should be emphasised. Perhaps even incorporate the logo.
I cant tell if i had more fun drawing the character or playing with the background, but some sort of magic happened for me when the two was combined. I was very pleased with the resulting poster, and even more surprised when my name was called.
