Stick People Revered or Despised?
I am one who loves abstraction, simplicity and minimalism but there is something about stick figures that makes me recoil in horror! My fear and revulsion is so great that I cannot bring myself to draw one.
As long as I can remember, I have always had a strong aversion to stick people. I started drawing at an early age and can honestly say I never drew stick people. People were always my favorite subjects and I loved to use form and shape to create them.
The stick figure's earliest roots are in prehistoric art. I like to think we have evolved since then. If you agree that we should draw the line at stick people, please join me in my quest to rid the world of stick figures by appreciating it. I welcome your comments.
