TURMERIC INDIAN DINING RESTAURANT
BRANDING IDENTITY
Located in Northern Virginia, I had the pleasure to design their logo, stationary, and promotional brochures.
This project was for the owners of the Turmeric Indian Dining Restaurant, which involved designing the logo, branding design, stationery, menu brochure, and promotional mailing brochure. Turmeric is a plant found in Southeast Asia. It has many uses and it is also used in most Indian dishes. I used the color yellow found in turmeric powder for the logo. Anyone who recognizes the color could easily associate it with turmeric.
When it came to branding I wanted to give the restaurant a distinct look but still be known as an Indian restaurant. I used a combination of the colors red and yellow, most commonly found in Indian dishes; as well as using the idea of falling turmeric powder and familiar Indian designs as a shared element in their branding design.
The promotional mailing brochure was a way to help promote the Turmeric Restaurant and gain more clientele. The mailing brochure consists of the restaurant’s opening hours, map of the restaurant's location, contact information, and photographs of a few items from their menu. The brochure folds in and has a die-cut. So when folded the iconic bowl of turmeric powder matches the Turmeric logo.
