Primer Boceto:
First sketch:
I always sketch in colour pencil. Never graphite. I usually reserve this for the final part, lights and shadows, when I know exactly where I want every part.
From the beginning, I wanted to do something like a “conceptual” illustration that could include the whole Myth, the characters, even the location where it happened. That’s why, in the second sketch, still appear that labyrinthine structure. However, I think this image never fixed. It’s more like a static, dramatic composition, and it also tell us more about the psychology of the character of the Minotaurus. It was not legible the inscription of “Minotaur”, so I took it off.
