After much discussions (with liberal amounts of food and wine) the name Leoa Cellars was chosen. It was inspired by Leo Augustine, the owners' grandfather, who started the family farm, as well as by the combination of the two partners astrological signs - Leo and Aries. 

We explored combining the zodiac symbols in ways that related to viticulture. Since the winery is new it was important to the partners that the logo reflect their farming heritage yet be modern and sophisticated at the same time. We accomplished this by combining a rustic typeface with a clean modern font.
