WHERE IS THE SHEEP???

Child-like imagery and movable parts created using childhood art supplies are incorporated into my designs to give a playful and childlike appearance. Exploring materials from my youth, I transform Perler Beads and Pony Beads into new forms creating a design language rooted in play. In order to engage the wearer’s inner sense of play, magnets are incorporated into some of the pieces which gives wearers the ability to interact with the piece. Reconnecting these different components, the wearer can change each character and create their own story. The magnets also allow the jewelry to be worn in as many different ways. The wearer can change a brooch to earrings or even a pendant. The purpose of merging playful and toy-like characteristics into my jewelry is to summon a person’s inner child and to elevate the mood of those people challenged by their fast-paced, high-pressure society. In this aspect, my jewelry becomes more than an adornment– it is a toy to engage the wearer’s inner sense of play and give them happiness.
