In this project, the theme chosen was pixel art as it fitted the nature of Digital Arts magazine. Through this, I explored and learnt the ways enhancing the reading experience through carefully placed interactive feature throughout the digital publication. By doing so, it was a challenging task as the interactive features had to be limited to being relevant in order communicate the topics of the article, while being creatively and tastefully presented to engage the reader. In addition to that, it had to also relate back to the theme; Pixel art.
All in all it, I learnt how to break down and apply the visual language/ essence of the magazine in my own publication, while being flexible enough to incorporate the theme into it.
Inspired by fighting and pixel games I played, i aimed to incorporate this nostalgic essence of pixel art into the magazine.
Interactive function add another dimension to learning tutotrials, giving it a quest feel.
