"Parade – a tenderness act’ is Macellerie Pasolini’s second work and was presented
in July 2011 as a research-performance during perAspera, a contemporary arts festival
in Bologna (Italy).
Parade is about tenderness and its polisemantic expressions within a family context.
A mother, a father and two teenager sons interact in a domestic environment: the actors
elaborate the plot of their complex family love with natural movements combined
with dance, around a table and on white beds.
The ties that unite them are indissoluble in the solitude of a blinding white setting.
Ordinary actions unveil love dimensions that overlap.
The intricated hierarchies of visceral feelings explode in the house’s pure white – private
glimpse which opens up in front of the audience.
Parade – a tenderness act unfolds without words.
The only forms of communication used are the scenic action and the sonic dramaturgy.
The latter creates the scenes both being synchronized to the scenic actions or totally in
contrast with them. The sound is performative and is the fifth actor on stage.
It pushes the spectators to challenge themselves and offer their senses to the scenic
action. The piece has been created with support from perAspera Festival and with
backing from Comune di Bologna.
