Dentist Nicholas “Nick” Rauber, DDS, donates much of his free time and personal resources to strengthening his community. The founder and director of the Swollfest Fishing Rodeo, Dr. Nick Rauber also stands out as a lifetime member and current Board member of the Coastal Conservation Association in Louisiana.
Active in 17 states, the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) promotes the conservation of marine habitats and resources. Its programs include building artificial reefs, supporting marine law enforcement, and monitoring freshwater inflow quality. Also active in promoting overall pro-fishery policies on the national level, the organization depends on its members and donors to fund its efforts.
Proponents of coastal resource preservation and use are welcome to join the organization or to give membership as a gift. Members are eligible to participate in STAR tournaments, each of which raises awareness of marine resources and promotes membership in CCA. Tournaments are currently held in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida.
