Graduation Project - Museum Branding

In my design, I wanted the brand to reflect the richness of our history in a modern way without loosing the traditional Arabian feel.
Logo sketches
logo development

I started with writing the words “حلي” and “أزياء”
on the grid, then combing the two words to create a symbol for my logo, I have added the word museum in Arabic -mut/haf- repeated in a circular form to create an ornament like shape, but that did not serve my concept, so I removed it.

Then I tried organizing the lines in my symbol to create balance, but the result lost the Arabic sense that I want to have in my logo.

So I took another approch, I wrote “حلي” and “أزياء” again but this time in completely different type of calligraphy.
the result was still weak to serve as a brand logo.

I went back and tried combing the two end results.

The final design is a symbol, it has the two words, written in two different techniques and combined smoothly creating the sophistication and contrast I was aiming for.

The main concept is to focus on the details since that was what the visitors appreciated the most in the museum. Another reason for using extreme close-ups was to keep the museum’s artifacts unrevealed encouraging people to come and visit the museum.
A minimal design was chosen to support the concept.

The Gift Shop
The museum does not have a gift shop currently. I believe that having a gift shop will help in promoting the museum's brand and support the advertising campaign. So I designed a couple of promotional items that can be sold in the gift shop.
