CITY COLA - The Fresh Taste Of The Big City
This is a spoof commercial we shot during the production of the feature film "WORTBROT".
Since we didn't want to have any copyright issues when showing anyknown brands in the film, our art-director designed our "own" line ofproducts and branded them under the label "Joe's".
In addition to "Joe's City Cola" there is "Joe's City Cigs", "Joe's City Mints" and "Joe's Ravioli".
One of our boom guys started to impersonate Joe and he was so good atit, that we decided to shoot a "City Cola"-commercial. So the actor inthe commercial is actually our boom guy.
Joe's text was written one early morning before production. The costume department took care for an appropriate outfit and thecommercial was shot during lunch break. We used extreme camera anglesto add to the sillyness of Joe's text.
As with the whole film, the commercial is shot in HD on the Grass Valley "VIPER" Filmstream Digital Camera and went trough the same editing, postproduction andgrading process as the rest of the film and was a lot of fun.
