Two Headed Spy

Selected concert flyers
I've created flyers for the band Two Headed Spy since their beginning. Some for very reputable venues, others for not-so-reputable ones. Here's a sampling.
This was Two Headed Spy's biggest show to date, with a legendary headliner in a legendary venue.
The illustration was based on the venue name.

Here, I pieced together a narrative from images of coral reefs and nautical Lego figures. I then set the text in big, bold, sans-serif type with a slight bevel to increase dimensionality. The starburst--an overused graphic element--seemed appropriate for this whimsically aggressive flyer.
A decorative playing card inspired the 19th-Century design of Two Headed Spy's freshman EP release party flyer. The band wanted a large number of cards printed for heavy promotion by all the acts on the bill. To spur on this group effort, I featured all three band names in equal type size on the card front. The flip side features Two Headed Spy's album cover art, which I also designed.

This show was early in Two Headed Spy's live performance career, so using the name of the venue was still the most direct solution to creating a mental/visual anchor between the event and its location. For this flyer, I created a custom illustration of a stork with two heads to tie together the band and club name. Each stork holds a little bundle of joy: the supporting bands for the night.
