Renovation of an existing apartment with the view of improving roof insulation and also functionality and aesthetics at the same time. Plasterboard ceilings were employed to hide the required roof insulation so opportunity arose for a full redesign of the interior space together with the ceilings to reflect the spatial arrangement. Additional features such as a fireplace as well as energy efficient lighting sources were also integrated into the design. The purpose of the design is to enhance the user's experience by increased functionality, improved ergonomics, careful combination of tactile with smooth surfaces, use of modern materials and better illumination of the space by means of direct or indirect lighting methods.
