Am Rosa Luxemburg Platz
Theater, cinema, tram, people and bikes...

As a student I had the chance to study a semester at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee. We were asked to make a project about a place in the city. As a foreign guy from Mexico City this was interesting. So after some research and not wanting to get political about it, I decided Rosa Luxemburg Platz was the place I wanted to do my project about. At the Babylon, the Volksbühne, the tram, the hostels, the subway, the park, the galleries, the bikes, the locals, this place was full of life every night. Each on different parts of the square. This pictures taken at night with a very basic digital camera is the result of the project.

The tiles in the floor are also an important and peculiar part of the square, they all include Rosa Luxemburg's words on it. So, part of the project were also pictures about the tiles. "Tiling the tiles" if that make any sense.
