This project's topic was synesthesia, a neurological phenomenon which is caused by one sensory stimulating the other. (resulting involuntary experience where one is able to see color in seeing numbers, alphabets or listening to music.)
Alexander Scriabin was a composer who had synesthesia and he made color & other visual rules that coordinates with musical notes. I applied his rules to design the entire book, using visual spacing as rhythm and color transition as musical notes. First and last signature of the book is a visualization of Duke Ellington's song 'Daydream', and each chapters of the book reflects different musical notes.
I designed this book by combining text from different books on study of synesthesia and visual artists who expressed their art work with multiple sensors such as Wassily Kandinsky.

By creating keyboard and projection installation that showed a certain color when a related music note was played on the keyboard, I tried to imagine and create similar experience of what it is like to have synesthesia.
