PICKET! remote protest system
completed at Domus Academy in Milano, Italy.PICKET! is a platform that allows online activists to realize a more significant role in protests. Physical protests are mirrored live within a virtual space. Through local installations in conjunction with the Twitter infrastructure, dialogue in the form of text, images and video is facilitated. Information captured at the physical protest can be reflected online and become the basis for more dialogue. People online can communicate individual messages or group activities and feelings at an aggregated level at the physical event through a variety of interactive tools and sculptures. The physical protest is correspondingly enriched by both the dialogue and the visualization of meaningful online support.
