An interactive storybook companion to the CBC documentary series Wild Canada.
The four-part wildlife documentary series is narrated by David Suzuki and is part of CBC’s flagship science series, The Nature of Things. Exploring the natural history of Canada, the show focuses on wildlife and climate change in some of the country’s most remote and spectacular landscapes. The companion app features lush, high impact HD video and photography, as well as 360° panoramas, immersive soundscapes, aerial fly-through videos, interactive infographics, and a wealth of exclusive material.
Results
The Wild Canada app was made available in the Canadian App Store on Thursday, February 27 and was immediately selected by iTunes to be featured as an “Editors’ Choice.” The app also made it into the Top 25 Free Apps in iTunes. In less than two weeks the app exceeded 75,000 downloads and user feedback has been outstanding, with glowing App Store reviews, earning a 5-star rating.
