Analysis of the current functional and spatial structure of Zabrze showed a number of places with a unique atmosphere, which are often invisible or difficult to access from the public spaces of the city. One of the main objectives of the project was to organize these functional points on both axes:

1. Urban Axis — linking points of cultural, commercial, representation and service functions along its length.

2. Green Axis — fastening theme park, recreation and sport into visible corridor crossing the Urban Axis.

Currently, the central zone is very heterogeneous, for the sake of the dispersed buildings and wide thoroughfares that intersects it. An important element of the project is also densifying the urban fabric in the very center though introducing contact with the Green Axis. This is made to clear the formal designation of public areas. As a result new Zabrze city center will match the scale of open space needs, and will allow better use of valuable investment areas in the downtown.
