For my dad's 47th birthday, I decided to create a card with Adobe Illustrator. I'd been making handmade illustrations for my family and friends for years, but I finally had the opportunity to use the new software. 

 

There were two main motifs that ran through the front of the card: leaves as a metaphor for wandering and small circles as a representation of coming full-circle in our lives as we age. It's a juxtaposition between the organic and the inorganic, the young and the old, and the harsh and gentle.
