Safer Internet Day 2015 Digital Campaign

THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

The Internet is a wonderful world of possibilities, but with that comes great responsibilities too. As amazing
as the Internet is, it is also a reflection of society, both the good and bad. Every time we log onto social networking sites, it’s easy to simply type in a comment whenever we see something, or snap a picture and post it on impulse – all in a matter of seconds.

But have you ever wondered about the impact of your actions? Those actions taken in a moment of haste can
result in repercussions that live on long after you’ve logged off - both for you and those around you. So the next time you get online, Think Before You Post.

We proposed a digital campaign with 4 viral videos, a microsite, a lock out challenge, an interactive mobile app and an activation bracelet to get our message across to internet users.

Forum page
Our users can share their stories here so they know that they are not alone when it comes to being a victim of malicious online postings.

Viral Video
Each video begins with the end scene of what has happened. Midway through the video, viewers were asked "What if you could change the past?" They are prompted to drag the scrubber on the video feed timeline back to the start. The video replays to show what actually happened a few days earlier ending with a message "Think before you Share". A total of 4 videos were proposed each with a different end message.

Mobile app
Users can scan their faces to reveal a different side of themselves due to the impact of actions taken online. Upon scanning, the user will see his regular face. But within seconds, his face will morph into a different version of himself, to show the effects of spontaneous posting online – such a cyber bullying, getting to know strangers online or even the sharing of personal information.
