TFL Social Canvas Idea

The user tweets a # to receive a link to the app that allows for geolocation. As the user moves around London using TFL services, the data of their movements is recorded. With 100s of routes mapped out from different participants over twitter, we can build up a great net of route paths around London, layered over one another. With the data collected from this we can then bring in a high profile artist to manipulate it in their own creative vision. The image can then be used for billboards and advertising purposes. We can then provide the data taken from the #paintlondon campaign as an open source for digital artists to take and produce magic with, then some really stunning pieces can be created.

Below is an example of a billboard idea using a sculpture by Adam Martinakis. Imagine if it was produced digitally using the route lines of people travelling around London. The people of London are invited to find out more about how it was made and are able to join in and be a part of the artwork.
TFL have the option to curate an exhibition of the work produced.

This would be a celebration of TFL’s connection with the city and it’s great abundance of art and culture. The campaign takes the people of London’s art and gives them the chance to be credited. By using the #tag data they are given a high resolution image for them to print as a souvenir.
