This artwork revolves around the theme of identity. I used a 3D pen, to write a story around the figure of a head. The story in this case belongs to Melinda Cote about her struggles with Fibromyalgia.

In her story, she begins to explain how this medical condition controlled such a large part of her younger life. Eventually, it consumes her, 'I almost totally lost my concept of time.'. But by chance, she finds and escape, through art.

Her story is inspiring and thought provoking. It made me wonder about just how much a medical condition becomes it's owner and how much they become it. No matter how much, it does not define you. It is simply, a story.

I wrote this story across the face, and although it tells part of the story of who she is, it does not cover the full face, or even the body. It is a shell of who she is, she is so much more than a medical condition.
