"ODE TO MY CHILDHOOD" is a series of illustrations dedicated to all those things that made me tingle when i was a child, from cartoon characters,video games or even toys.
I've always been fascinated with the design of "Spawn", I think "Todd McFarlane" did an amazing job on this guy, and what I loved the most is that epic dirty red cape of him, it gives him so much personality, so if I have "Spawn" in my memories, is because it was one of the few comic books I ever bought and what attracted me to it, was its amazing art, I remember thinking it was one of the hardest things to draw back then, I did my first attempt like 10 years ago, so now, I wanted to make a second attempt, but this time with my own style,
So this is why "Spawn" made it into my childhood memories ode.
Now, what I wanted to represent in this painting is the beginning of "Spawn", the first time he gets into that suit and his reaction to it.
