This is my unofficial illustrated poster paying tribute to the great biographical adventure by Jon Krakauer, adapted into the film by Sean Penn. The iconic 'Magic Bus' & wilderness itself seemed to me almost as as important characters as Alexander Supertramp / Christopher McCandless himself. It was my intention to reflect that in the art along with channeling the spirit of adventure and majesty of nature that the film celebrate.
This piece received a merit award in the 3x3 Magazine Professional Show No.13.

Steelarchive released a limited edition Blu-ray of the film including a slip case featuring my original artwork. I was also commissioned to create new artwork for the back cover and spine and decided to continue the scene around the full wrap. I added a few elements that I felt we're quite significant such as the river and the red hat that the main character sticks to a tree to mark his crossing and which ultimately proves to be a point of no return.
This edition of 500 is now sold out. The updated artwork received an award of excellence in the 58th Communication Arts Illustration competition and can be seen in the 2017 Illustration Annual.
