Changing Room
Changing Room is a short film, directed and writed by Karolina Lisowska and produced by Klaudia Woszniak for the BA Film and TV course in LCC, London. The story is based on the book A Cupboard Full Of Coats by Yvvette Edwards. In the scene Jinx and Sam, best friends, are talking about their relationship with their parents. Sam is not very supportive about Jinx situation, her mother slapped her for the first time.
The director and cinematographer had a strong vision of how the film should look like. They had references of Billy Elliot and they wanted a specific shoot of Sam passing behind a bench. Therefore to archieve the vision imaginated from them I established that the film would be set on a changing room of a public school from 1978.
The location was a TV studio
The scene happens when those two girls stayed a little longer in the changing room while everybody else left for the other class. To have a real environment I tried to bring life with the paintings in the wall and the clothes scattered all over the place.
The final set was really close of what it was planned. The whole team worked hard and I think we achieved a great result
