HMSHost appointed UXUS to create a new dining concept for Schiphol Airport, tailored to international travellers in Lounge 2 with focus on North American passengers.

 

The challenge was to break away from generic airport dining and offer a unique, evocative experience – a destination in its own right. Inspired by the silver screen cinema years, Silverscreen Diner puts the iconic American diner on center stage with a contemporary Dutch twist.

 

A multi-layered dining experience, anchored by the central counter, offers a variety of food and seating modes - each with a unique mood, gourmet add-ons and staged displays – an exciting mass-niche alternative to one-dimensional fast dining in airports.

 

Different zones cater to different traveller needs, from socializing to work and relaxation. An innovative combination of digital, graphic and decorative storytelling add new depth and immersion to airside dining.

 

UXUS developed the overall design concept, customer journey, equipment layout, seating strategy, FF&E and branding, final design intent drawings.
