Graphic Design Projects

This project was offered at school by a Turkish cafe here in Indy called The Bosphorus Istanbul Cafe. The Bosphorus is the name of the bridge and river that separates Turkey from Greece. It is where Europe and Asia meet. I began working by researching the calligraphy styles of Turkey. However, I constantly had the problem of making the style too Oriental or too European, and not the perfect balance of both. Eventually, I created the perfect brush stroke which fully represented Turkish calligraphy. I also researched rugs and their specific colors from that region since rugs are popular all around Turkey. I used the rug I found for the border of the menu design and business card. I also used the colors from the rugs for the colors of the logo. The bridge in the logo represents the Bosphorus bridge as does the blue line underneath it which represents the river.

This design was a wedding invitation I did for my college roommate and his wife.
This t-shirt design was created for the High School Ministry at White River Christian Church in Noblesville, IN. The design is a reference to a popular card game among the youth called "Mafia" where there are townspeople, a nurse, a sheriff, and the mafia who "kills" one person each round when everyone goes to sleep. The objective is for the mafia to "kill off" everyone or for the townspeople and the sheriff to find all the mafia hiding amongst the townspeople. The phrase "townspeople, go to sleep" is used at the end of each round often signifying the mafia are still alive and someone will be "killed off".
