My first Desktopography submission for its 2010 exhibition had to be solid. I knew going in that the quality of work which was apparent in past exhibitions was nothing short of brilliant. My piece would be in the company of great work by gifted designers from all over the world who I admired and drew inspiration from all these years prior to this opportunity.

After a few weeks of stagnant brainstorming, the concept materialized from an unlikely source: my book shelf. Life of Pi was a great story about a boy whose left stranded in the Pacific Ocean after a tragic ship wreck. Among his companions on the boat is a 450 pound Bengal tiger. Enough said...

Finding the right stock was a key contributor in pulling the piece together. The scene tries to paint a chaotic visual of what happened shortly after a cargo ship went down which was transporting animals. Everything about it seems surreal at first glance until you take in all the details. Below is a collection of some process screenshots and the final outcome. Pick up the print over at deviantArt.
