During my time at M&C Saatchi Abel, I was given the opportunity to redesign their website. Having the agency as a client was a daunting task. The brief was simple. Brutal simplicity of thought. The standard of work is incredible. I decided to design the website as a canvas, letting their work speak for itself.
Simplicity was the key element throughout the designs. I stripped the navigation items down to a minimum which enabled me to have a lot of fun with intuitive animations driving the narrative of the site. The photography on the website is truly beautiful and it captures the culture of M&C Saatchi Abel perfectly. Combined with bold typography, the full page visuals give life to the spirit of the agency. The website was designed to look and function perfectly on all devices.
The website loads with a line of copy. The copy flip animates into the site overview which then packs away to the left of the screen to reveal the main navigation bar. The landing page has revolving visuals with different topics. On this page the viewer can flip through the visuals and view more details relating to the article.
The work item roll over is a neat little detail. A colour is pulled from the specific background image and creates the overlay item on top of the visual as seen above.
The work is laid out in sections. I designed a very flexible layout that can be tweaked and reordered to make every case study look unique and considered.
The section below is the 5 year story of M&C Saatchi Abel. I designed it as one long scrollign narrative that includes timed animations and parallax scrolling elements.
This little section (forming part of the Story page) was shot one day at the studio. Maurice Saatchi infamously wears these iconic spectacles. The animation is triggered by the user's scrolling.
The website is fully responsive and designed to work perfectly on all devices.
